If nothing else, the tragic events that befell the United States and Spain have highlighted our vulnerability to international terrorism. In an effort to frustrate terrorists, criminals and illegal immigrants, many governments have focused on the development of a perfect travel document and a watertight issuance process. This article explains the steps taken by the Kyrgyz Republic to overhaul and modernise its security document issuance system.
