security printer has high expectations of hybrid technology - Digital verification lifts graphic doc Print
issue 1, 2003

The graphic production process is completely digital, all the way up to the printing press. From a technical perspective, the jump from graphic to digital document security is but a stone`s throw away. However, it is not necessarily an obvious step to take. After all, the electronic security features included in documents depend on graphic security techniques. It is precisely their combination with refined printing techniques that opens the door to an abundance of interest opportunities, for manufacturers and publishers alike. Having started his career as a history teacher, Jos Rath (1965) switched to the corporate sector, where he was responsible for initiating change processes. He founded AestronDesign, a security company that was acquired by Joh. Enschedé in 1996. He is currently a board member of the holding company. Jos has developed and marketed several innovative products for Joh. Enschedé, including an iris scan (biometric security).
