This article discusses a solution that not only reinforces existing chip-based security measures, but also improves the security and reliability of visual verification procedures. The solution, known as KINEGRAM(r) Secure Memory technology, uses a smartcard reader to compare securely-coded data (stored in an Optically Variable Device - OVD) to encrypted information (stored in the chip memory).
