Digitaglio - combining the best of both worlds( by Micael Bauer ) Print
issue 13, 2005

International security efforts have increasingly focused on travel documents, which are widely used to perpetrate many types of crime. The commercial availability of state-of-the-art imaging software, scanners and printers has made it much easier for the counterfeiting community to improve the quality of its output. To stay one step ahead of the game, it is imperative that security documents and visas are protected by highly complex and virtually inimitable security features. Digitaglio, which combines intaglio and inkjet printing techniques, allows authorities to create security features that are extremely difficult to imitate convincingly. Michael Bauer explains why.
