The electronic passport is fast becoming a reality. Since the adoption of ICAO’s e-passport blueprint, many countries have made considerable progress with the implementation of their e-passport programme. As we head for 2006, the number of countries that have issued an e-passport is fast approaching double figures. Moreover, many other countries are expected to follow suit.
